How the procedure runs

An ear, nose and throat examination is carried out, with audiological measurement and endoscopic review added where needed.

The right approach, duration and review interval for newborn hearing screening are agreed together with the patient.

The procedure is completed, and the follow-up appointment and home care notes are shared in writing.

Audiometry
Hearing thresholds are measured at different frequencies in a sound booth. It establishes the type and degree of hearing loss.
Tympanometry
The movement of the eardrum and the pressure in the middle ear are measured. It is used in particular where fluid in the middle ear is suspected.
Hearing Aid Fitting
Selecting a suitable device from the audiometry result, tuning it to the individual and following the adjustment period.
